About the Event

DATE CHANGE: Due to Covid, we have had to postpone our opening night to Tuesday June 7th, 2022 | 7pm - 9pm | 58 Bronte Road, Bondi Junction

Join us for an evening with local fibre artist Britt Johnson, featuring her newest exhibition, Intertwined    Come on opening night to meet the artist and purchase work while enjoying our complimentary wine and cheese.

Britt's art will be showing in our gallery for the whole month of June so you'll have plenty of opportunities to see it. Tell your friends and pop in for a visit!

Britt Johnson is a basket weaver, botanical dyer, ceramist and trained jeweller who is passionate about reimagining how we see the everyday utilitarian object. Britt feels that pursuing a creative practice provides her with a strong sense of belonging not only with people, but also with the natural landscape. Finding inherent beauty in nature also complements a sustainable practice that she is continually expanding.

Intertwined

"This exhibition is a visual exploration of my creativity as I become more comfortable identifying myself as an artist. Since taking the leap to pursue my creative practice a year ago, it has been a wrestle and a struggle the majority of the time. The pandemic and other events have not made the journey easy, however I believe the most difficult aspect I have found is the vulnerability required when one puts their creative expression out in public. This exhibition is me doing just that and learning to get acquainted with the uncomfortable. My creativity is an integral part of me, woven into me from the beginning, intertwined with my identity and I am gradually learning to accept this."
